Being indecisive has its benefits....
Today our professor was very sick, so we had the day off. We went to this indoor, huge market called Ciudadela. It had any souvenir you could possibly want plus some, but the fun part was getting to talk the prices down a lot. Turns out I'm not half bad at that. It's probably because I just kind of seemed like I wasn't sure whether I wanted the thing. If you know me, I actually am pretty indecisive about buying things, but it worked pretty well as a technique. I'm sure it helped that I spoke Spanish, and that I came in knowing they would try to sell us items at a higher price since we're American tourists.
I bought a gold obsidian necklace for myself, and a mini bottle of mezcal with the worm in it for dad, which I am sure he will willingly try because people will read this and help me peer pressure him into it hopefully. I am definitely going pack for more shopping later.

We watched our first movie for this course today, which was in Nahuatl, which is NOT Spanish, but it had English subtitles so that was a plus. It was pretty good and had lots of themes related to our class so far.
Tonight, we went to a Salsa lesson at a place called Mama Rumba. It's free for ladies on Wednesday and Thursday, and it was absolutely a blast. Believe it or not, I wasn't terrible. We will be going back frequently, so hopefully I will come back knowing how to Salsa a little bit. The instructions were in Spanish, but other than that it was pretty easy to follow.
Class tomorrow is from 9 am to 5:30 pm with an hour for lunch to make up for Doctora's sick day. Gah. That's seven hours and thirty minutes of the same class. The SAME CLASS. It's going to be a long long day, and I probably will consolidate tomorrow and Friday's posts since we are basically only going to sit in class and don't have any fun excursions planned. So if you don't hear from me tomorrow on the blog or between the hours of 9 and 5:30, no worries (Mom).
Hasta luego! xx
